Dr. Orkun Akseli is a professor of Commercial Law at the University of Manchester, and currently serves as the Academic Director and Chair of the Manchester Law and Technology Initiative. Akseli holds degrees from Dokuz Eylul University, the University of Georgia, Istanbul Bilgi University, and the University of Manchester. Professor Akseli also gave lectures at different prestigious institutions including University of Manchester, the Robert Gordon University, Newcastle University and Durham University. Prior to his academic career, he practiced insurance defence and commercial litigation. His research focuses on the harmonization and modernization of secured transactions laws and development finance. Akseli's book, "International Secured Transactions Law," was published by Routledge in 2011.
Dr. Vincenzo Bavoso is a professor of Commercial Law at the University of Manchester, who gave lectures and seminars at distinguished institutions, including Kingston University, the University of Manchester, and Institute of Advanced Legal Studies in London. Bavoso holds an LLB from Napoli, an LLM from Manchester, and a PhD from Manchester in Corporate and Financial Law. His main research interests lie at the intersection of financial law, financial regulation, and corporate governance. He has contributed to various projects, including the "Sustainable Companies" initiative and has presented his work on the EU Capital Markets Union. His upcoming book, "Debt Capital Markets: Law, Regulation and Policy," is set for publication in 2025.
