📢 Bilkent University Faculty of Law is pleased to announce the upcoming “Comparative Tort Law Conference”, marking the centenary of the Turkish Code of Obligations.
The conference positions the Swiss-Turkish experience within a broader comparative context. Several of the jurisdictions represented in the programme — including the UK, Greece, Italy, Norway, France, Austria, Poland, Croatia and North Macedonia — offer particularly valuable perspectives on the reception and adaptation of foreign legal models. Beyond the Swiss-Turkish relationship, the conference therefore explores a broader question: how tort law develops in legal systems shaped by reception, legal transplants and hybridity, and where such systems converge with or diverge from the models that influenced them.
