Bilkent Center for Human Rights will host an online panel as part of the 25 November International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
Moderated by Assist. Prof. Zülfiye Yılmaz from Bilkent University Faculty of Law, the panel will feature Prof. Dr. Fatma Umut Beşpınar, faculty member of the Department of Sociology and Head of the Gender and Women’s Studies Program at METU, with a presentation titled “Economic Violence Against Women: Concepts, Current Situation, and Recommendations.” This will be followed by a presentation by Attorney İlayda Öner (Istanbul Bar Association) titled “Being a Woman in the Healthcare System: Rights, Inequality, and Struggle.”
